Taelyn has Arrived!

On Monday, January 19 at 7:45am, Taelyn Paige made her entrance into the world. She weighed 7 pounds and measured 20 inches long. We are doing well and amazingly getting at least some sleep! We had several visitors at the hospital and more have come to meet Taelyn at home. Chad's mom spent the first night at home with us and the Normans arrived early the next day for the second shift. It has been so nice having the help and we will be sad to have them leave next week. Thanks to everyone who has come by, brought food and sent flowers - Taelyn has very much enjoyed all the attention to say the least!

Finally, Baby Martin has a name!

So, after much deliberation and scrutinization, Chad and I have finally decided on a name for our baby girl. Drum roll please... Taelyn Paige Martin. It is similar to a name I found in a baby book, but not exactly. I looked up Taelyn and found that it means "inner path". Also found that the actress "Lexie", from Grey's Anotomy, has a daughter in real life with the same name - interesting. Anyway, hope you all like it - we certainly do!

Less than a month to go!

Merry Christmas! I hit the 36 week mark on Wednesday. It is so hard to believe that less than a month from now we will be holding our baby girl. Chad has forced me to pack my hospital bag in the case that I go into labor before my due date. I did it, but feel that for some reason she is going to be a typical girl and be fashionably late. The due date is the 21st, but I am thinking around the 27th or so... who knows though!

Austin Baby Shower

Last weekend we had our second baby shower which was held in Austin. The shower was absolutely beautiful and all the hostesses did such a nice job with the food and decor. Thanks to Carrie for opening her house, and to Irene, Heather, Jenny and Missy for the wonderful food and beautiful flowers. Chad missed out on this one since it was just for ladies, but somehow he didn't seem to mind! It was nice to see so many friends and family make the trip from outside Austin - thank you for spending your Saturday with me and helping us prepare for Baby Martin. We are still trying to decide on a name and welcome suggestions. Hopefully we will agree on something before she arrives!
