30 Weeks and Counting

Wow, I can't believe it has been nearly 2 months since I last posted something to this blog - if I am this bad now, how worse will I be when baby #2 arrives!

Here is a picture we took this morning - crazy that I am actually getting it posted this quickly!  There is definitely a huge difference from the last picture that was posted.

Things have been a bit crazy around the Martin home.  Chad has been traveling to Las Vegas and Southern California for work quite a bit this past month - I know, those don't sound like actual "work" destinations, but he assures me he is working!

This is Thanksgiving week, and Chad and I are both taking off this afternoon through the remainder of the week.  We are hosting the Martins again - this time in shifts.  We will have Chad's cousin Seth and his family tomorrow and Thursday and then Friday through Sunday, Chad's older brother Tom and his family will be here.  All through that time Chad's parents and his younger brother, Jeremy and his wife will be popping in for meals and activities.  It is always a fun time with the multitude of kids running around - Taelyn loves the time with her cousins!

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween this year!  We spent Saturday night at the neighbors party - fun family time and great costumes from all the neighbors - kids and adults!  Then on Sunday, Halloween day, we spent the evening with some friends in the next subdivision trick or treating.  Taelyn loved getting candy - and wanted to eat it every time she was given a new piece!

The baby bump is showing...

This picture is from when I was 19 weeks.  I am at 22 now and a little bigger, but not much.  I will post a new picture soon so you can compare.  Everything is still going well and I am feeling fine.  We have started to talk to Taelyn about being a big sister and she even went with us to the doctor last week.  They did an ultrasounds, so she was about to see the baby in mommy's belly.  I am sure it just looked like TV to her and she didn't realize where the image was coming from.  Hopefully in a couple more months she will start understanding a bit more.  If anyone has any ideas about how to make it clearer for a 20 month old, I am open to hear!

We're Pregnant Again!

First Ultrasound at 11 weeks
So, for those of you have been under a rock or out of the country, the rumor is true!  We are expecting our second child at the end of January.  We are very excited and look forward to finding out the gender of the baby.  Chad is set on it being another girl, I just have a feeling it is a boy - so who knows!  I am feeling great and have had no morning sickness, no food aversion, nothing.  I am constantly reminding myself I am indeed pregnant.  Just this week I have started to see a bit of a change in the size of my belly and according to the doctor, everything looks great and is progressing as it should!

Taelyn's First Haircut

Well, it was hard to do, but we decided it was time to get Taelyn's hair cut.  She had such adorable little curls, which were trimmed off, but we have hope that they will grow back as her cute bob has a little flip at the bottom.

Summer Time

Wow, I can't believe the last post I made was Easter! Ugh, I guess we have been busy with life. Over the summer we have spent lots of time around the water - at the lakehouse, SeaWorld and the Texas Coast. Taelyn loves playing in the water and with it being so hot, it is a good thing! Here are a few pictures from this summer - enjoy!

Easter - Taeyln's First Egg Hunt

I keep meaning to update the blog with Martin family activities and finally I have some time today. There are pictures of the family and video of Taelyn on Easter. It was a dreary morning in Austin on Easter, but the afternoon turned out to be sunny and cool - perfect for the Egg Hunt!

Fun day at the Rodeo!

This past weekend some friends of ours were in town to show their chickens at the Austin Rodeo. We went for support and to allow Taelyn some new experiences. She has contact with horses and potbelly pigs on a daily basis, thanks to our neighbors!,but does get the chance to interact with baby livestock. She definitely had a good time in the petting zoo at the rodeo. I took some video and pictures - enjoy!

First Snow!

Snow is a rarity in Texas, so we were happy to get some of the white stuff this year, even if it wasn't much! Taelyn and Butter both weren't sure what the cold, wet stuff was, but were very interested in finding out!

Taelyn Birthday Celebration

12 months ago Taelyn Paige Martin entered our lives and things have not been the same since. We have been so blessed to have such a good natured baby and now easy going toddler. Her birthday party was a good time and something we will all remember. When it came time for her to eat her birthday cake, she was not too sure about it. Up until that moment, she has not had any sweets so the taste was unlike anything she was used to! Well, that is fine with me if she does not have a sweet tooth!

Here are some pictures from her party - lots of friends and family shared her day. Thank you all for coming and making memories with us!

Taelyn Turns 1!

Today is Taelyn's 1st birthday. I was just on the phone with my good friend Maegan, and she asked me if I remembered what was going on at this time last year. Taelyn was born at 6am, so by this time we were already relaxing in the hospital and in just complete awe of this precious little baby that had come into our lives. It is so hard to believe it has already been a year! Taelyn's birthday celebration is Saturday, so I will post pictures and perhaps some video as well.

Christmas Memories

So, I realized I had never posted any pictures from Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve at home with the Martins and then a few days after Christmas with the Normans in San Antonio. We had a wonderful time and Taelyn very much enjoyed all the gifts - or should I say wrapping paper and ribbons! She had a fun time playing with all her BOY cousins too. She is the only girl on the Norman side, so my grandmother was especially excited to finally have a baby girl again.
